Safety Manuals

OSH Act PART II: 6 (7) “General Duties” states;

“An employer shall prepare or revise, in consultation with the representatives of his employees, a written statement of his general policy with respect to the safety and health of persons employed in the workplace”.

It is therefore important that the employer must have in writing, not only the policy statement, but also details of the organization he has established for implementing that policy plus information on the rules and procedures by which the aims of the policy are to be achieved.

To meet the obligations of the statement, consideration must be given to the three (3) main parts of the policy:

1.The safety policy statement.

2.The organization implementation.

3.The arrangements for achieving the aims.

Safe Reps can assist in the production of this important safety document (also known as IIPP or Injury, Illness and Prevention Program). This safety manual will cover all aspects of the OSHA standards, to include;
